Request Account Deletion

At Commoner App, we respect your privacy. You may request deletion of your Commoner App account at any time.

Steps to Delete Your Account

1. Email us at contact@commonerapp.org from your registered email address.
2. Use the subject line: Request for Account Deletion.
3. Mention your registered phone number or email ID in the email.

Data That Will Be Deleted

• Personal details: Name, email, phone number, date of birth, gender
• Profile information: Profile pictures, bio, address information
• Educational data: Academic background, class/grade, stream/subject, educational board, achievements, and performance data
• Personal development data: Strengths, skills, interests, hobbies, learning preferences, and career aspirations
• Family information: Parent/guardian details, family contact information, and financial information
• Session data: Chat messages, calendar events, session materials, and feedback
• Assessment data: Assessment submissions, results, and progress tracking
• File uploads: Documents, certificates, transcripts, and other uploaded files
• App usage data: Usage patterns, feature interactions, and analytics linked to your account
• Preferences: Notification settings, dietary preferences (if applicable), and other user preferences

Data Retention Policy

Some records may be kept for legal or regulatory purposes, including but not limited to:

• Transaction or subscription records (if applicable)
• Legal compliance records
• Fraud prevention and dispute resolution records
• Records required for maintaining platform security and integrity
• Anonymized data used for service improvement and analytics

All other personal data will be deleted within 5–7 business days of the deletion request.

What Happens After Deletion

• Your account will be deactivated immediately.
• Access to all platform features will be revoked.
• All active sessions and appointments will be cancelled.
• All active subscriptions (if any) will be cancelled.
• You will no longer receive future communications from Commoner App.
• Your Google Calendar integration will be disconnected.
• All connections with counsellors or students will be terminated.

Alternative Options

Before requesting account deletion, you may consider these alternatives:

• Temporarily deactivate your account: You can temporarily deactivate your account and reactivate it later if you change your mind.
• Update your preferences: Modify your notification settings, privacy preferences, and other account settings to limit data collection.
• Request deletion of specific data only: Instead of deleting your entire account, you can request deletion of specific data categories while keeping your account active.
• Disconnect third-party integrations: Revoke Google OAuth permissions and disconnect calendar integration without deleting your account.
